Musca Trowel

The Musca Trowel has a scoop shaped blade, practical for working with loose, sandy soil or garden compost. The blade is bronze and the handle is beech.

I love the Musca Trowel and use it all the time through the gardening year.

Length: 12ins, 30.5cm

Blade: 6 1/2ins long x 2 1/2ins wide, 16.5 x 6.5cm

Weight: 8oz, 225g

The tool head is made of solid bronze (copper with a little bit of tin). Other parts are pure copper, brass and other copper alloys.

Or you can of course take a look at this short and handy guide to the benefits of using copper tools:
  • They don’t rust
  • They have sharp edges
  • They are hardwearing and will last for years
  • The metal is known to deter slugs and snails
  • They slice into the soil and come out clean
  • They are handmade in Austria and Hungary

The tool heads carry a no-quibble, 25-year guarantee (excluding normal wear and tear) and the handles, which are made from European hardwoods, have a two-year guarantee.

They make FANTASTIC gifts!

Charles Dowding, the no-dig vegetable maestro also uses these tools. Check out what happened when we spent a day with him here in his garden.
